McKayla Rose Maroney, also known as 'Mack Air Maroney', is an infamous American gymnast who won a gold medal with the US Olympics gymnastics team and individual silver medals for the vault competition at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. It was her involvement in sports as a child which inspired her to take up gymnastics. She has a specialization in vaulting, and is the only gymnast to successfully defend her gold medal. She initially won at the 2011 World Championship, and followed by defending it at the 2013 Championship. In 2012, the Olympics were the time she won an Olympic silver medal for vault, and she was determined to defend her gold medal in the Rio Olympic Games 2016. However, due to injury and other health issues she decided to declare her retirement from gymnastics prior to when the Olympic Games commenced. Apart from gymnastics, she's been featured in several TV shows and plans to make her debut as a performer. McKayla has a bright future to look forward.
